The UK voted to leave the European Union (EU) in 2016 and officially left on Jan 31, 2020. The move strained (使紧张) UK-EU relations. Now, both sides hope to hit the reset button with a new agreement, reported Xinhua. Announced ahead of the first-ever UK-EU summit held in London on May 19, the agreement is expected to bring nearly 9 billion pounds (about 87 billion yuan) to the British economy by 2040. One highlight is a youth mobility (流动) plan. It will allow young people from the UK and the 27 EU nations to obtain visas for working, volunteering, studying or traveling in each other’s countries.
