In Saint Petersburg, Russia, people celebrate Hermitage Cat Day every year, in late May or early June. The Hermitage cats live in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. Cats have been there since the 18th century (世纪). Their job is to never let rats (老鼠) near the museum’s artworks. On that day, the museum holds activities to celebrate these cute workers. This year, many people painted wooden (木质的) cats in the museum’s courtyard (庭院).
