Editor’s note: US swimmer Katie Ledecky is one of the most successful female swimmers in the world. She holds the world records in the women’s 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle and has won nine Olympic gold medals. Last June, Ledecky gave a speech at Stanford University’s 2025 graduation ceremony. She said that the foundation (基础) of success comes from small, daily efforts that add up over time. She also reminded students that no one can go far alone. We should value and stay in touch with friends who support us. They will be our most important source of strength (力量之源) when we face challenges in the future.
