
The World Happiness Report 2026 found that teenagers spend about 2.5 hours a day on social media. Those who use it for less than one hour a day are the happiest, even happier than those who never use social media. The research also pointed out that apps for social connection (社交联系) can make young people feel happier, but those focusing on influencer content (网红内容) can make people compare themselves with others and lose happiness.
