A child splashed (泼) water on his head to cool off in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on June 2. The country is experiencing a major heat wave, which has caused four deaths in the first four days of June. On June 4, the temperature in Dhaka reached 36.8 C, and it may climb to 40 C later this month in many parts of the country, Xinhua reported. The heat is partly due to El Nino. It happens when the water in the Pacific Ocean becomes warmer than usual. This often brings more rain to parts of the Americas and less rain to some other regions. It can also raise temperatures around the world.
