The Pinglu Canal project places great importance on environmental protection. Fish migration (洄游) in the Qinjiang River had been blocked for over 60 years. The Qingnian hub helps solve this problem with a 480-meter-long fishway. It came into use in 2025 and has helped over 78,000 fish move upstream and 119,000 downstream as of this September.
