Background information
The English in Southeast Asia (ESEA) series of conferences has been held annually since 1996. There are currently nine collaborating institutions, one each from Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, New Zealand and Thailand.
It has been agreed among the collaborating institutions that there should be only one institution from any country. The collaborating institutions may actively source, or consider approaches from institutions of neighbouring countries that are currently not represented. Any prospective collaborating institution should be involved in the teaching of English language, applied linguistics, linguistics and TESOL, etc.
