  Background information

  Established at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992, Generative Approaches to Second Language Acquisition (GASLA) is a biannual international conference. It is devoted to mentalist aspects of second language acquisition, such as the description of nonnative grammars, similarities and differences between first and second language acquisition and sentence processing in nonnative acquisition, etc.

  Meetings have been held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US (twice), City University of New York, US; McGill Univerity, Canada; University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, US and The University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
