APPLE Inc.'s much-anticipated iPhone 3G was launched last Friday in 22 countries. The iPhone 3G offers a faster wireless network, iPod-class audio, video and photo functionality, and the ability to download third-party applications, such as games. It also has GPS. Most importantly, the new iPhone sells for $199 for the 8GB, and $299 for the 16GB model, about one-half the price of its predecessor. The favorable price had led to a surge in demand. By Monday, 1 million iPhones had been sold.
