NANO foods have gone on the US market. They are produced by using nanotechnology, which involves the design and manipulation of materials on molecular scales smaller than the width of a human hair. Companies using nanotechnology say it can enhance the flavor or nutritional effectiveness of food like cooking oil, tea or chocolate. But consumer advocates said studies show that nano-sized particles may invade cells and breach the blood-brain barrier.
