A NEW survey released by the Philippines' Social Weather Station (SWS), a nonprofit social research institution, shows that Filipinos' English proficiency has improved over the past two years. The SWS study results attribute the improvement in Filipinos' English competence to greater awareness of the language, help from the Internet and market-driven factors.
Japan to revise TOEIC score certificate

THE Tokyo-based Institute for International Business Communication (IIBC), an organization involved with the TOEIC program in Japan, announced that the score certificate of TOEIC is to be revised. Scores for fluency, consistency, length of sentences, vocabulary, grammar, intonation, and listening will be added to provide a more exact analysis of examinees' speaking abilities.
