SO, just how does Michelle Obama compare with the First Ladies of other countries? Well, after a quick glance around the globe, it seems, extremely well. Only the First Lady of France (the second wife of President Sarkozy), the former model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, compares. But Carla’s style does not reflect her husband’s politics or standing half as well as Michelle Obama’s does. She may always looks dignified and impossibly beautiful but Mrs Bruni-Sarkozi often plays it safe, stylistically, even to the point of looking boring. If her style were taken as a reflection of President Sarkozi’s politics, people would consider him a die-hard conservative, wary of change.
