AMERICANS apparently love the feel of soft, scented toilet paper, but their pleasure is coming at the cost of forests. According to new figures reported in The New York Times, only two percent of US households use 100 percent recycled toilet paper. Most other countries are not nearly as picky. What's more, sales of premium, soft toilet paper rose by 40 percent in some US markets last year, according to Information Resources, Inc, a marketing research firm.
