A WEEK of strenuous searching over the Atlantic led to the recovery of bodies and debris from the spot where Air France Flight 477 is believed to have gone down. There was no clue of survivors. The recent loss of Flight 477 and its 228 passengers had many experts calling on airliners to set up a global positioning system (GPS), which, the Associated Press says, might have helped search crews locate the crash site faster and presumably find survivors.
