A UK government policy set to take effect in 2011 will expand the role of sex education in public schools, according to reports. In the past, sex education has been mostly limited to a scientific explanation of reproduction. But as the Guardian explains, under the new policy “children will learn about sex in the broader context of relationships, love between members of the same sex, marriage...and abortion”.
