AMERICANS have, over the years, come to use the adjective “European” to describe behavior or perspectives that are not the norm in the US. For example, in an episode of the US version of The Office, the main character, Michael Scott, gets caught with this pants off. In defending himself, he says, “European offices are naked all the time.”
