I HAVE always had great confidence in my English, whether it’s oral or written. But recently during an interview, I was asked to read a piece from China Daily, which was totally new to me. I didn’t even know some of the words. After I finished it, I was asked to retell it. I tried hard to remember it, but failed. Then I was told that I was shy and not good at communicating in English. I was really embarrassed, not from the interviewers comments but more from myself. Later I realized that this was not the end of something but the start of a challenging new English life. I should also thank the interview for pointing out my weaknesses in studying English so that I can improve in the future.
