A COUPLE of days ago, my English teacher asked us to prepare a group drama. Our play has a character who is a pregnant woman. I was chosen to play the role. The part requires me to scream a lot, as I am giving birth to a child. I’m an introverted girl, so the role was really a challenge. I stuffed a basketball into my clothes to make myself look pregnant. While waiting outside the classroom to play my part, many passersby saw my big stomach and showed expressions of surprise. I tried to close my eyes to their reaction, because I felt so embarrassed. But our play turned out to be very good and all the “sacrifice” paid off.
