GERMAN soccer star Mesut Ozil is experiencing the language barrier (障碍) problem at his new club. Ozil, 21, whose star rose during the World Cup this summer, joined Spain’s Real Madrid in August. But he sat on the bench (板凳) in the club’s first league match. According to coach Jose Mourinho, Ozil doesn’t speak any Spanish and so there are communications difficulties. “He doesn’t speak a word of Spanish,” said Mourinho. “It’s not easy for my message to get across as I wish. He doesn’t even master English. He speaks English a little better than Spanish but it is difficult [to communicate].”
