LIU Xiang has apologized for his criticism of teachers on September 13. The 110-meter hurdles (跨栏) star made news for a blog entry (帖子) he posted on Teachers’ Day. In the post, Liu first wished all teachers a happy festival. However, after joining in a discussion with fans, he wrote: “It’s disgusting (让人厌恶的) for some teachers to ask students to pay for after-school classes. The content (内容) has no major difference to regular (平常的) school.” He also said some of his teachers made him nervous. “When I was a young boy, I was afraid of the teachers asking me questions.”
