LIU Xiang was back in the media spotlight last week, but not on the sports page. The star hurdler (跨栏运动员) was reported to have 200 million yuan in savings in his bank account, 50 percent in prize money and cash from advertising contracts (合约) prior to 2008. Interestingly, however, it was also revealed (透露) that his salary is a mere 1062.48 yuan a month.
