LAST week, a few sandstorms (沙尘暴) hit parts of northwest China.

Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia (内蒙古) and Ningxia were affected. The sandstorms did great harm to many plants and houses. They affected the lives of millions of people.
