A Chinese student who had just returned from Japan did something terrible at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport on April 1: he got into a fight with his mother. She had come to the airport to pick him up. The student ended up stabbing his mother nine times with a knife, seriously injuring her. The senseless violence shocked the nation.
