THE majority of bank robberies (抢劫) in the US take place mid-morning on Fridays, according to FBI analysis of nationwide data from 2010. Most robberies happened at bank counters (柜台) between 9 am and 11 am and involved notes demanding money and threats of weapons. Of the $43 million (281 million yuan) taken in 5,546 robberies last year in the US, only $8 million was ever recovered. Last year, the most robberies were reported in California, with 805 in total. The least robbed state is North Dakota, reporting only two robberies.
