Liu Shiyu regrets his decision to buy a hybrid car for the sake of being green three years ago. Compared to similar fuel-powered vehicles, the 31-year-old employee of a Beijing-based NGO paid some 50,000 yuan more for the electricity- and fuel-powered vehicle, thinking that he would save a great deal on oil over the coming years.
