CANADIAN pop star Carly Rae Jepsen took home the award for New Artist of the Year at the 40th American Music Awards on Nov 18. “I am floored. Wow,” the 26-year-old said and thanked Justin Bieber, who liked Jepsen’s song Call Me Maybe and lip-synced (对口型) it in a music video with his friends last year. The song soon became a hit (热门单曲) around the world. Jepsen’s name became the talk of the town, too. The singer released her new album, Kiss, in September.
