SOUTH Korean pop idol Kim Kibum, a member of the boy band Super Junior, has caused controversy in China recently. Kim plays the role of Duan Yu in TV drama Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, the newest adaptation (改编) of Louis Cha’s wuxia novel. Many fans of the novel protested (抗议) online that the role of Duan Yu should be awarded to a Chinese actor instead of a foreigner. However, there were some netizens (网民) who felt that Kim is perfect for the role with his boyish good looks.
