The days of a government job being for life are over. On Dec 5, George Osborne, the UK’s Chancellor, ordered the country’s civil service to cut its budget by £5 billion (about 50 billion yuan) over the next two years, reported The Independent. This means more than 13,000 civil servants could lose their job in addition to budget and staff cuts already introduced earlier this year.
