In China, drunken driving is one of the common violations that will result in heavier penalties according to the new regulations. Drivers whose Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) exceeds 20 mg per 100 ml of blood, or 0.02, will be punished. Drunken drivers with a BAC exceeding 0.08 will face criminal charges in addition to a five-year license suspension.
