ANNE, an old woman, struggles to climb to the windowsill (窗台). She stares down at the view outside and up at the sky, with her heart falling out of the window, back to the old days. Those were happy times when she had fun with her family, but now she is lonely and hopeless. Paradise (天堂) seems to be calling her. Suffering from disease and misery (悲惨), Anne wants to end her life. This scene, from the movie Amour, reflects the urgent (紧急的) problems of the elderly. It reminds me of my volunteering time at the local nursing home (敬老院).
