By 2012, according to the Ministry of Defense, more than 15,000 Chinese military personnel had participated in 15 UN Peacekeeping operations. Over 20 years, Chinese soldiers have built more than 230 bridges, 8,000 kilometers of road and treated more than 60,000 patients. According to the UN, peacekeeping troops from China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Frace and other countries are present in seven African regions.
