Liu Hui (not her real name, as she prefers to remain anonymous), at the age of 24, is expecting a child in six months.

“I don’t feel ready to become a mother yet. Only a few months ago I was still under the protection of my own mother,” says Liu, a high school teacher based in Henan province.
