IN five years, people will search (搜索) online by voice and pictures more than by typing (打字), said Baidu CEO Li Yanhong. Li was at the Baidu Technology Innovation Conference in Beijing on Sept 3. Li said that now 10 percent of search requests (请求) on Baidu are by voice. Many of them are from children. It’s much easier for users to speak than to type in the search box. Also, many people are searching by using pictures. When they see something and want to know more about it, they take a picture and run a search. 21ST
