THERE is a type of detective story called the “police procedural (警察疑案作品)”. The detective in a police procedural is a police officer rather than a private investigator like Dupin, Holmes, or Poirot. In this type of story we follow the police detective as he works with, and against, his department and the law as he tries to discover and bring to justice the criminal responsible for the murder. |  |
