WITH increasing numbers of people checking news updates on their cell phones, it may come as a surprise that about 2.7 billion adults – nearly half of the world’s adults – still read newspapers in print. This number comes from the World Press Trends 2015 report, released by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers this month. And since almost all major newspapers have digital (电子的) versions (版本), about 800 million people read digital papers, said the organization.
