Salt warnings come to US

THERE may not just be fancy pictures of food and descriptions of dishes on restaurants’ menus in the future. Those who live in New York City, starting from Dec 1, may notice a small picture of a saltshaker (盐瓶) next to salads or sandwiches in restaurants. It means that that dish contains “more than the recommended (推荐) daily limit of 2,300 mg of sodium (钠), about one teaspoon of salt”, reported the Guardian newspaper. New York has become the first US city with this rule, which comes as officials and experts are asking Americans to eat healthier.
