Dreams and passions are *finicky things. Though telling graduates to “never give up” and “be true to themselves” isn’t terrible advice, Elizabeth Greiwe of Chicago Tribune argues that commencement speakers should take commencement speeches for what they really are: a last-ditch effort to give students well-grounded advice. It’s a way to wrap up the college experience in an easy-to-digest, 15-minute package.
