Hu Ge succeeds at home

SHANGHAI-BORN actor Hu Ge won big in his hometown on June 10. He was honored with a Magnolia Award at the Shanghai Television Festival for his performance in the critically acclaimed (广受好评的) show Nirvana in Fire (《琅琊榜》). The modest actor credited his success to good luck. “I’m lucky to have gotten this brilliant script and production team ... I became a better actor thanks to this role,” he said in his acceptance speech. The actor flew to London after the awards ceremony to promote Shanghai to the world as the city’s tourism ambassador (大使). |  |
