Half of Britain’s primary schools will adopt the “Shanghai maths” teaching style, as part of a government campaign to stop youngsters from falling behind their Asian *counterparts. They will ditch their current “child-centered” style and instead return to repetition, drills and “chalk and talk” learning that engages the whole class.
