On Aug 9 (Beijing time), Sun Yang got his revenge in Rio after Australian swimmer Mack Horton’s *taunts about his drug ban. He fought back in the pool by securing a win in the hyper-competitive 200-meter freestyle. Sun is now the world’s undisputed distance freestyle king － he is the only man to have won gold in the 200m, 400m and 1,500m freestyle, having taken home the latter two at the London games in 2012. Sun was banned for three months in 2014 after testing positive for the drug *trimetazidine which he says was used to treat a heart issue. The drug was taken off the banned stimulant list in 2015. The Chinese Swimming Association has sent an official letter demanding an apology from Horton for his “*inappropriate remarks”. Sun and Horton will compete again in the 1,500m freestyle on Aug 14.
