After the documentary Masters in the Forbidden City–which profiled the work of the Palace Museum’s restoration department–became an internet hit, many people’s interest in the work of restorers was *piqued. Shan Jixiang, curator of the museum, revealed during a speech at Southeast University on Dec 4 that when the Palace Museum wanted to recruit 60 new employees this year, 15,000 people applied for the job. |  |
