However, in the world created by Japanese anime My Hero Academia, 80 percent of humans have special abilities, or what they call “quirks”. It is not normal not to have quirks. But our protagonist (主人公), middle school student Izuku Midoriya, is one of the unlucky 20 percent. And for that, he is often laughed at and bullied (欺凌) by his classmates.
