完形填空专项模拟训练(二)

Yesterday, my family went mattress (床垫) shopping.

1 mattress shopping happens in a large warehouse (仓库) where all you can see is rows and rows of mattresses. I couldn’t imagine that it would be a(n) 2 experience.

But my shopping experience was at a 3 kind of mattress store. I was 4 at the door by employees that looked like they would be more at home in an Apple store. They 5 my name and email address and asked me to take a 6 in the waiting room.

Yes, a waiting room. And they 7 me a free bottle of water.

After just a few minutes, a representative came up and 8 me into one of their trial bedrooms. The bedrooms had a fully made bed, pillows (枕头), a night stand and a chair. Just like a 9 bedroom.

The representative closed the door and told us that the room was ours as long as we 10 it. So we got on the bed and 11 it out.

After about 10 minutes the representative came back and asked if we had any 12 . We did, but not too many. She answered them.

After that we were taken out of the bedroom, back into the 13 . The hostess thanked us for visiting and told us that there were 14 ice creams around the corner.

If we wanted to 15 a mattress, we could do so on their website. 16 , if we wanted to purchase one there, they would just go to the website for us.

Overall, the 17 took less than 30 minutes and was pleasant and enjoyable. It felt very 18 , not at all high-pressure.

During the month I spent studying in England last summer, one day stood out. I was only 16 and I had been turned loose (放松的) on the streets of London. The freedom was wonderful, 1 for someone who had lived in a small town all her life, the city represented a world of 2 .

This was not my first 3 to London. A year earlier, I had been there with my mother, trying to 4 all the major sightseeing attractions in mere three days. That trip was both 5 and wonderful, but this time I was grateful to simply be able to enjoy the 6 and culture.
