As one of the world’s most famous publications, Guinness World Records was created in 1954 after the manager of the Irish brewery (啤酒厂) named after the Guinness family got into a debate over which was the fastest game bird in Europe. It was this discussion that inspired the man to compile (编写) a book to settle such debates in pubs.
