JUST ASK | 成长不烦恼

本文作者: DALE FOX
Q

Dear Dale,

I’m the monitor of my class and my job is to keep discipline (纪律) when the teacher is away. But some naughty students in my class always ignore me and disturb (打扰) others. What should I do?

Amy

A

Dear Amy,

Being responsible (负责的) for a group of people is hard, especially when that group is made up of teenagers. However, you can become a better class monitor by trying a couple of new things.

First of all, try talking directly (直接地) to the students who are misbehaving (行为不当). If you explain to them that their actions are disturbing others, they may change their behavior.

You could also tell your teacher and ask him or her to talk to the students. But talking to them yourself would be better, as it shows how responsible you are.

Second of all, try to build a better relationship with these students.

The problem seems to be that they don’t respect (尊重) you. So, to win their respect, try to get to know them better outside of class. If you do this, they’ll be more willing to listen to you and behave better in the classroom.

Right now, they probably see you as just a class monitor. But if you let them know who you are as a person, their behavior toward you will change.

Something important to remember is that respect works two ways. If you make the effort (努力) to respect someone, they will show you respect in return.

And by remembering this small thing, you’ll soon see what a big difference it makes in every relationship you have.

Dale
