His first time at middle school was bad for Jeff Kinney. But the second time? That was golden.
Kinney is the writer and cartoonist (漫画家) behind the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, which are based on the life of a school kid named Greg Heffley. It tells the story of the thugs (恶棍) and cliques (小团体), the inexperienced (没经验的) parents, the awkward bodies and painful moments of grades six through eight. The 12 “novels in cartoons” he published between 2007 and 2017 have sold millions of copies all around the world – many of them, teachers and parents say, to boys who once hated reading. In addition to the books, there have been four movies.
