Q
Dear Daniel,
I like scary things. I also like to wear dark clothes, especially black and grey hoodies (帽衫). I prefer to sit in the corner and avoid talking to other people. Is this a good or bad thing?

A
Dear Bella,
None of these things are really bad. They might even be good qualities.
Dark colors look great. But I don’t know much about your clothing style aside from (除了) the hoodies. I love hoodies, and I love wearing dark colors. But, if you’re going to wear all black hoodies, all the time, you should know that other people might not understand your style.
Is it fair? No. But it happens.
You say you like creepy and scary things. That’s fantastic. Like what you like, and don’t need to feel sorry to it. If people didn’t like creepy and scary things, there wouldn’t be Halloween, horror movies or heavy metal music.
But you also say that you avoid people. Are you careful in choosing friends? Or maybe you think it’s more fun to watch a crowd than to join one.
I’m a little worried that you just don’t like people. You should ask yourself “why not?”
Keep that in mind, but keep being yourself. Be a positive (积极的) example of a black-hoodie girl. Dressing dark doesn’t mean you can’t smile and laugh and have fun.
So go say “hi!” and join the crowd sometimes. Someone in that crowd might be happy to meet you. The only thing that is more fun than watching a scary movie is sharing it with a friend.
Daniel
