Earth’s glaciers (冰川) are melting faster than scientists thought. A new study shows that we are losing 369 billion tons of snow and ice each year. The glaciers that are shrinking (缩小) the fastest are in central Europe, western Canada, the United States and New Zealand. In these areas, the glaciers will not survive this century, scientists say. The faster melt is due to global warming. The melting glaciers are adding more water to already rising seas.
