Too much sugar

运动员爱长蛀牙?

Sports players may have more bad teeth than ordinary (普通的) people. Why? British scientists have answered this question. Most players often have sports drinks and bars (棒). These things give them energy (能量). But there is also a lot of sugar in these foods. This is bad for their teeth.

Pollution and crime

空气污染让人更暴力。

Air pollution (空气污染) is bad for our health. But that’s not all. It can also cause more crime (犯罪). There are harmful (有害的) things in polluted air. These harmful things can influence (影响) people’s brains. People can become more violent. This can cause more crime.

Hold on to hair

韩式泡菜可防脱发?

Do you often lose your hair? Maybe you should eat some kimchi (泡菜). South Korean scientists find that it can help you grow (长出) more hair. They gave 23 men kimchi every day and saw their hair grow. Kimchi is rich in probiotics (益生菌), which are good for hair growth.

Mom’s sound

大脑爱听妈妈讲话。

Do you enjoy listening to your mother’s voice? US scientists have found that our brains prefer the sound of our mothers’ voices. Their voices make kids’ brains more active. Why? Because we get used to our mothers’ voices when we are in the womb (子宫) .
