After genetically modified (GM, 转基因的) soybeans and cotton, here comes genetically modified salmon (三文鱼). While the safety of GM food has been discussed, the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) cleared salmon in 2015 after years of testing. GM salmon is the only genetically engineered animal approved (被认可的) for food use in the US. According to CGTV, the fish is scheduled to hit the US market in 2020.
